So this was kind of awesome; I have a HCR sticker on my Fuji Feather and this was on it when I came back out from Toki last night.

Now that you’re moving out of the city just want to give you a heads up.

Is D.C. Morphing into an Abercrombie & Fitch Ad? The DCist’s Aaron Morrissey has created D.C. Gentrification Bingo out of the topics that always seem to pop up in gentrification talks. Those topics include dog parks, bike lanes, latte sipping, food trucks, and cupcakeries. All things white people in cities love, according to D.C. campaign strategist Marshall Brown:
“…the new white voters aren’t involved like that. They want doggie parks and bike lanes. The result is a lot of tension. The new people believe more in their dogs than they do in people. They go into their little cafes, go out and throw their snowballs. This is not the District I knew. There’s no relationship with the black community; they don’t connect at church, they don’t go to the same cafes, they don’t volunteer in the neighborhood school, and a lot of longtime black residents feel threatened.”
That’s getting close to a Bingo, folks.

UPDATE: Marshall Brown was dismissed from Sekou Biddle’s campaign after Post comments.

“The District’s acting schools chancellor and Rhee’s protege, Kaya Henderson, declined to comment for this story, but she has since released the results of the school district’s own investigation by the private consulting firm Caveon Test Security. Caveon found no evidence that teachers or staff had tampered with the answer sheets, b…ut it did find clear proof of erasures.” If it’s been said, what is the issue?
